AJ Passarelli Colorization of Ulysses S. Grant Blog

I am working on Ulysses S. Grant  because I wanted to he seemed interesting...?

I am using this picture for reference this is Ulysses S. Grant.

This is what I changed about him I changed his hair, eyes, suit, beard and skin.

I am doing this 1. Because don't fail. 2. I was forced. 3. I kinda wanted to.

Veronica - Colorization Project

Day 1:  I am starting off with a picture of former U.S. president John F. Kennedy. (my favorite president besides Obama because Michelle is my Obama Mama)

I'm using this as a reference pic because I was not alive when he was so I don't know how he looked..

I added color to his hair. I didn't make it the exact shade of brown in the reference picture because I feel like the lighting and the time the picture was taken are both different from the reference.
Using the select tool, I made a new layer of just his hair, then using the paint tool, I painted his hair brown.
I have done the same with the other steps.

Then, I added color to his skin. I used the select tool to select his skin, then (after many... MANY failed attempts) painted it an orange-ish color. It came out a peach color close to his actual skin color.

(Note: I am going to clean up in the end.)

Day 2: I added color to his eyes, eyebrows, and lips. Doing the eyebrows was difficult because they are hard to see and it is kind of light and faded. I honestly don't know how that came out as gr8 as it did, but it all worked out. I did it the same way I did his skin and hair.

I kept his suit the same because I figured his suit was black in the actual picture and whatnot. I picked a tan color because I'm fun and full of life.

beginning to finish. (final product) I cleaned the edges.

alternate background because my teacher made a note about how fun I was with choosing the other background...

Kennedy's Colorization Project

For a Photoshop assignment, we have a turn a black and white picture into a picture with color. For my project, I'm turning this picture of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, into a colorful picture.

On the first day, I used the quick selection tool to carve the outside of his body. Then, I made a new layer and colored it yellow to make the background of the picture yellow.

On the second day, I used the quick selection tool to carve out his beard and hair. Then, I made a new layer and colored it brown to make his hair and beard brown.

On the third day, I used the quick selection tool to go around his suit. Then, I made a new layer and colored it navy blue so his suit can be navy blue.

On the fourth day, I used the quick selection tool to carve out his face and ears. Then, I made a new layer and colored it a tan-ish color so his skin can be tan.

On the fifth day, I used the quick selection tool to carve out his tie. Then, I made a new layer and colored it black so his tie can be black.

On the sixth day, I used the quick selection tool to go around his eyes. Then, I made a new layer and colored them grey to make his eyes grey.

On the last day, I used the quick selection tool to go around his lips. Then, I made a new layer and colored them pink to make his lips pink.

On the fifth day I have finished, I added color to Frederick Douglas hair and eyes and shirt.

The reason I am doing this to show you the importants of colors and Frederick Douglas.

Jaeda Bryant : colorization

I was assigned to change the color of a object or person from before World War 2. So I decided to Pick this photo of a College.

So I started with this picture. I then had to change the colors .I selected each of the items I  wanted to    change the color of. After I selected them I made a Via layer copy. Then I changed the colors of the building, Sky and concrete. ↘↘↘↘
I used this photo as reference .

This was the finished project. I think the hardest part was the building trying to get the whole building the same color. But I finally figured out how to make it all the same color. After many failed attempts  I finally was happy with this one.
I attempted to make the windows a different color but it failed really bad. It made the windows look fake. I didn't save a photo with the windows colored. Just believe mean when I say it, it looked terrible. But I would recommend Using a different building just cause this one is so big and has so many different windows.

Caleb Morgan Colorization

Today I will be colorizing a black and white photo of Franklin D. Roosevelt.

I will be using this colored photo as reference.

The first thing I will do is add a slightly different, and almost impossible to spot, color change on the suit. After that, I will make the tie blue.

First I will select the quick selection tool, with this you can select a part of the picture to put it on another layer. After selecting the tie I right clicked and created a new layer and m

Next I will color his skin. Skin color is very difficult to do, so it will not be perfect.

Gabby's colorization project

Day 1:

I used this black and white picture as my project picture, from World War 2:

But I used this as a reference photo for the gas masks in the picture:

First I selected the filter on the gas mask and made a different layer of the selected then colored it a dark red then did the same with the actual mask.
